Next steps – Rainbow Dog Project – A positive health and well-being initiative for the LGBTI+ community

A third Rainbow Dog community consultation meeting on 22 March 2025 at Diverse-City attracted some new faces as well as people who have been previously involved. Small groups reviewed ideas for individual and community action from the previous consultation.

Groups were asked to explore possibilities for future Rainbow Hub SA (RHSA) and community led actions in the context of RHSA’s current strategic aims:
advocacy, building friendships, celebrating diversity, collaborating, forming connections and securing sustainable resourcing.

We’re delighted that some participants indicated their interest in being part of an ongoing Action Group to work alongside RHSA volunteers. Email us info@rainbowhubsa.com if you would like to get involved.

Next steps:
All the ideas for actions the group developed will be taken to the RHSA Committee in mid-April and then we will set up an Action Group meeting date

Our sincere thanks to:

  • The people who shared and trusted us with their stories.
  • Cris Davis for her leadership, insightful analysis of the stories and her grant writing skills that
won us further funding from the Fay Fuller Foundation until 2027.
  • The Fay Fuller Foundation for their funding, support and engagement with our community-driven work.
  • COTA SA for their support in the initial management of the project.
  • The community consultation group who have helped and guided us throughout the life of the project and into the future.
