Rainbow Rights in Conversation podcast & video series is now live

One of the projects we worked on when we were the Rainbow Hub Advisory Group of COTA SA, was conceiving and developing an online Rainbow Rights Toolkit.

Hosted by Julie McCrossin AM, five new podcast and video interviews with local LGBTI+ advocates build on discussions from COTA SA’s Rainbow Rights Forum last June which launched the Toolkit and provide accessible, in-depth insights into ageing well as a rainbow person.

Each interview is around 20 minutes and explores one of the pillars of the Rainbow Rights Toolkit in depth – Health, Housing, Overcoming Discrimination and Planning Ahead.

  1. Advocacy, Housing, and Healthcare with Pam Price, Rainbow Hub SA Committee Member & Activist
  2. Housing and Overcoming Discrimination with Jenny Scott, Trans Activist & LGBTIQ Advocate
  3. Ageing fabulously with Sarah McMullen Roach, University of South Australia
  4. Planning Ahead to safeguard your rights with Robert Lempens, South Australian Lawyer
  5. Planning Ahead for End of Life with Shannon Beresford, End of Life Doula.

Over the next few months we’ll link to each interview in our newsletter. You can read more here.

The podcast is available to listen through Apple Podcasts and Spotify, and the video interviews are available on the COTA SA YouTube channel.

We encourage you to explore the podcast and video series and share them with rainbow community members and allies.

The Rainbow Rights project is supported by the South Australian Government’s Office for Ageing Well.
