Have you ever wondered who will speak for you if you can’t speak for yourself? How will your identity, relationships and wishes be honoured when the time comes? For many LGBTI+ people, end of life planning isn’t just paperwork – it’s about dignity, choice and making sure we’re seen for who we truly are. This workshop will explore how to plan ahead so your values are respected, your community is protected and your final chapter reflects the life you’ve lived with pride.
Join Jo Fuller and Shannon Beresford, End of Life Doulas and proud LGBTI+ community members, to explore end of life planning through a queer lens. There will also be an opportunity to experience Threshold Singing. This one-day session will cover:
- Why end of life planning matters for LGBTI+ people
- Key documents and decisions to consider
- How to ensure your identity, wishes and relationships are respected
- The role of an executor
- Specific issues facing trans and gender-diverse people
- Practical tips to start your planning journey
- Links with the work of RHSA’s Rainbow Dog Project Action Group.
Jo and Shannon bring professional expertise and lived experience to create a safe, welcoming space for these important conversations.
