We were very saddened to hear Rainbow Hub SA (RHSA) Committee Member Cris Davis died on 24 October after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

Cris was a member of the 2017-2018 LGBTIQ People Ageing Well Project Advisory Group, became founding Chair of the Rainbow Hub under the auspices of COTA SA in 2019, and continued in that role until December 2022. The Rainbow Hub created a proud legacy under her leadership – you can read more under History on our Rainbow Hub SA website.

Cris drew on her career-long experience as an educator as part of the Silver Rainbow Training team for over four years. She also initiated the Rainbow Hub Writing Group which met through 2021 – 2023 and was a member of the Rainbow Dog project team.

Contributing ideas for our future until very recently, Cris’ wise words resulted in a successful grant application which allows the Rainbow Hub to continue advocacy work in our community.

Cris will be missed for her independent spirit, strategic thinking and passionate support of our community.

A celebration of her life will occur on 30 November. Our thoughts are with her partner Sue Hetzel and family.
