Rainbow Hub SA was one of several organisations supporting the Queer Archive Roadshow at the Migration Museum along with the History Trust of SA and Parkstone Foundation.
Organised by the Queer Archive Collective of SA (QACSA), the 9 November Feast Festival workshop attracted around 30 people from diverse backgrounds. Many took up the invitation to speak about item/s they had brought along. Information about how the QACSA community archive will complement existing collections.
The collective is in the early stages of establishing an SA Queer Archive to collect, preserve, celebrate and ensure the history of SA’s LGBTIQA+ communities won’t be lost.
Participants were urged to help ensure our history doesn’t remain invisible. A resource handout was shared drawing on the 2021 Rainbow Hub Rainbow Memories Workshop Tips co-presented by COTA SA Rainbow Hub and the History Trust of South Australia’s Centre of Democracy with SAMESH and Feast Festival.
