Rainbow Dog Community Consultative Group & Friends – the next step

Rainbow Hub SA (RHSA) would like to invite you to the third in a series of consultations over a cuppa about the project we undertook in 2023-24, when we were part of COTA SA, interviewing older LGBTI+ people about the effect that an illness or change of circumstances had on their emotional or mental well being. We want to thank those who generously gave their time and shared their stories with us.

Cris Davis, a former Rainbow Hub SA Committee member and chief research officer, who sadly passed away late last year, presented some of the de-identified findings at a May workshop held at Diverse-City. Attendees developed some early ideas about how to progress and increase our advocacy work, this being a key finding of the project, and will now be incorporated into all aspects of our strategic directions.

As a new organisation since July 2024, when we set up independently, RHSA has almost completed its planning process and set some directions which we want to progress.

The purpose of this workshop is to welcome back people who attended last year, and any new people who may want to assist with their ideas. If you are new, don’t worry we will be doing a recap of the project and findings on the day. Supported by the Fay Fuller Foundation.
