VOTE 1 Rainbow Hub SA in SA Pride Awards

We’re delighted that Rainbow Hub SA has been nominated for a 2025 Community Group of the Year Pride Award!

Criteria are:

  • Must demonstrate a sustained and significant contribution to advancing LGBTQIA+ rights, visibility, or inclusion.
  • Achievements may include activism, policy change, education, or community-building initiatives.
  • Nominees must show measurable outcomes or a proven track record of positive impact.

A summary of our nomination reads:

Rainbow Hub SA is an independent community-led incorporated organisation providing a voice for over 77,000 older LGBTI+ people in SA aged over 50. This is achieved by advocating and building community through action, events, aged care training, targeted projects and information sharing.

The history of Rainbow Hub SA is that in 2017-2018 the LGBTIQ People Ageing Well Project engaged with older people from SA’s rainbow communities to find out what mattered most to them as they age to better inform policy and create a groundswell for change. This unique project was the first time in SA that older LGBTI+ people had been invited to be heard in relation to their ageing experience. The project also celebrated the lives and contributions of older rainbow people and led to the formation of COTA SA’s Rainbow Hub and since July 2024, Rainbow Hub SA.

The organisation has continued to thrive and become a key part of the LGBTI+ community fabric.

Vote by 8 June. Have your say in deciding the finalists for each award category. Winners announced at the Pride Gala 27 June.
